Director – Recording and Transcription Strategy

Location: East Coast (Flexible)
Engagement: 12-month fixed term (Extension potential)
Remuneration: $140k-$160k+ negotiable for specialist expertise

The Opportunity

A significant Government Agency is seeking a high-calibre candidate to lead a critical, large-scale service delivery project. This is a rare opportunity to lead the design and implement a new service delivery model for Recording and Transcription Services.
This role is not merely about contract management; it is about designing, scoping, and building an entire operational ecosystem from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
  • Capability Scoping: Lead a comprehensive gap analysis to determine the systems, infrastructure, and technical requirements needed for a robust internal service.
  • Service Design: Develop the end-to-end service delivery model, ensuring high-fidelity outputs and seamless integration with existing Agency workflows.
  • Workforce Architecture: Identify the specific skillsets and recruitment strategies required to build and manage a specialist internal team.
  • Implementation Leadership: Oversee the transition from external providers to an internalised model, ensuring service continuity and data integrity.
  • Executive Advisory: Provide authoritative briefings to senior leadership on technical requirements, system risks, and operational milestones.

About You

You are a subject matter expert with a proven track record in the operational management of recording and transcription services. You understand the "mechanics" of high-volume, precision-dependent environments.
Key selection criteria include:
  • Proven Experience: Significant history in building or operating transcription services within complex legal, regulatory, or quasi-judicial environments.
  • Technical Acumen: Deep knowledge of the digital recording systems, hardware, and software platforms required to support large-scale operations.
  • Operational Delivery: While procurement experience is valued, you must demonstrate hands-on experience in the actual delivery or management of these services.
  • Strategic Discretion: The ability to operate effectively within a sensitive and confidential project environment.

Why Apply?

This is a high-profile "greenfield" project that offers the autonomy to shape a permanent legacy within a major Agency. Given the specialist nature of this role, the salary on offer may be negotiated to reflect the successful candidate’s specific expertise.
